Scythe has used the latest technologies such as the M.A.P.S fin structure and H.P.M.S. mounting system for the new Tatsumi to raise the entry-level bar higher once again. The Tatsumi CPU Cooler proves that superb cooling performance for the latest AMD and Intel processors doesn’t necessarily need to be expensive. This new addition to Scythes the entry-level portfolio offers an optimum mixture of quality built structure and performance at an economical price.

Despite its low weight and compact dimensions: 102 x 146 x 83 mm (W x H x D) it still offers superior performance for a cooler of this size. The Tatsumi achieves efficient heat dissipation thanks to utilisation of the latest technology developed by Scythe during the past decade. The large nickel-plated copper-baseplate integrates seamlessly with the CPU heat-spreader and efficiently transfers the heat to the three U-shaped 6 mm copper heatpipes. Heat is then passed on to the aluminium fin structure, where a 92 mm case fan provides the perfect airflow to dissipate the heat.
92mm PWM Fan
The included Glide Stream 92 mm PWM fan rotates in a range of 300 to 2500 RPM and moves air between 11.4 and 94.3 cubic meter per hour (6.70 to 55.55 CFM) at a merely audible 7.2 to 31.07 dBA. Scythe paired the Tatsumi heatsink with the Multiple Airflow Pass-Through Structure (M.A.P.S.) technology to further increase performance and reducing air turbulence
Hyper Precision Mounting System
The Hyper Precision Mounting System (H.P.M.S.) was first introduces with the release of the popular Mugen 4. Scythe passed this very reliable and convenient mounting mechanism on to the Tatsumi. Thanks to the backplate-based mounting system it is no longer necessary to remove the motherboard to mount or dismount the CPU cooler (though motherboard removal is still necessary to fit the backplate). Socket compatibility list benefits from this amazing mounting system as well, as it provides compatibility to a huge variety of CPU sockets.

Very quiet compared to stock intel and temps dropped by 10c
The reason I ordered this was because I did not want to remove the motherboard, graphics, power cables etc… It was supposed to be a push pin type cooler, also it has been reviewed on some sites as being the best air cooler even in comparison to the most expensive ones. There are obviously a few revisions of this cooler and this site sells the backplate version. Well, it looks and feels solid so I will keep it. I am happy with quiet PC, they are very professional.
