Cooltek W1 Mini-ITX Aluminium Cases

The W1 (Powered by Jonsbo) is aimed at customers who want to create a powerful gaming system based on a compact Mini-ITX setup. The main feature of the W1 is its timeless design line with an attractive classic aluminium exterior. The case is available in black and silver with or without a window for all hardware enthusiasts who enjoy the view the inner workings of their PC.

The front of the W1 is kept very sleek - only the slot-in bay for a slim optical drive is visible. In order to preserve the clean look, the power and reset button, the I/O panel and the two USB3 ports are located to the right of the case. The chassis of the W1 is made of high quality 0.8 to 1 mm thick SGCC steel that gives the case maximum stability. The front consists of brushed 1.5 mm thick aluminium. The sides and top are made from 2 mm thick aluminium. Air intakes in the left side panel and under the top cover allow optimal air flow.

Windowed version

The real strength of W1 is revealed when the side and top panel are removed: The interior of W1 is divided into two compartments, which provide two separate thermal zones for maximum compatibility and the installation of powerful components. This allows for the installation of high-end graphics cards with a maximum length of 320 mm, and for CPU coolers with a height of up to 215 mm.

The lower compartment allows for installation of high-end power supplies without any space restriction. In addition, up to two 2.5” HDD/SSDs can be conveniently mounted on the chassis floor if required.

The upper compartment where the motherboard is installed and the main HDD cage is located, is designed for the decoupled mounting of up to four 3.5” drives. The hard drives are simply equipped with anti-vibration screws and then inserted into the existing slots. Installation is incredibly easy and guarantees that vibrations are dampened. Above the HDD cage there is a mounting frame which accommodates a slot-loader optical drive.

The ventilation system of the W1 is also designed for maximum performance. In order to perfectly ventilate the upper area of the case, one 140mm fan each is installed behind the front and on the rear panel. The front fan ensures perfect cooling of the installed hard drives, while the fan on the rear panel efficiently exhausts the warm air from the CPU cooler and graphics card. Air intakes in the left side panel guarantee that even the most powerful graphics cards can suck in enough cooler air. Finally the top cover is perforated with a large quantity of ventilation holes. If required, users can install two 120 or 140mm fans on the roof of the case.
